ABOUT THE HOPE4OA CLINICAL TRIAL
HOPE4OA is a research trial for people suffering moderate to severe knee pain - likely due to osteoarthritis (OA). It aims to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication for the treatment of knee pain due to osteoarthritis.
Introduction and eligibility
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TRIAL?
People aged 18 years and over, with moderate to severe knee pain that has lasted for at least six months, and for whom current non-surgical treatments have not provided sufficient relief, are invited to participate in this research study.
You will attend up to 3 screening visits to determine if your are eligible to participate.
If eligible for the trial, you will then:​

Attend clinic visits twice weekly (every 3 to 4 days) for 6 weeks for an injection under the skin of your thigh or abdomen of either the study drug or the placebo

Attend 6 follow-up visits to test the effectiveness and safety of the treatment

Your total participation lasts approximately 7 months with a total of 18 study visits

During these visits you will complete various diagnostic and laboratory tests
The doctor’s office conducting the research trial will be able to provide you with more information about the study requirements.
